River walking, hiking, loft cabins and long nights in the company of classmates - the three days spent in the forests of Antipolo were all made possible by Temple Hill’s Camp Committee. The annual High School Camp took place from September 16-18, 2025 at Mt. Purro, Antipolo. How much work goes into such a program? How much time and effort would have to be given, in the name of building connections within the community?

“...it will really teach you a lot about finance, accounting… so I wanted to experience that before I get to senior high,” explained Grade 10 Ben Samaniego, when asked why he joined the Camp Committee. “I feel like I’m able to help most in (like) organizing skills, doing the logistics, and itinerary… I love that I’m able to contribute at least something like that to the community,” responded Mireya’s Catral.

When asked about challenges they faced, the respondents all pointed to when a separate group booked a camp reservation, forcing the committee to come up with either alternative lodgings or an alternative schedule. Despite that, Grade 9 Maffine Go related that, “We’ve made good progress and despite the cancellation of the (September) 17-19 booking, everyone was very considerate.” In the end, the camp was moved to September 16-18 with the same cottage reservation.

At the end of the camp, Mireya expressed, “...I think it was successful. Despite the weather and all the scheduling mishaps, I got feedback that people had a good time.” Maffine Go stated, “...by God's grace it turned out to be successful and enjoyable for everyone.” “Well, I think we had a great run, with both the planning as well as the overall results of the camp. It was a pretty great experience overall,” said Ben Samaniego.

The HS Camp concluded on September 18, with all participants safely arriving back to the QC campus.
